In Zeiten
In 2016
war das einfacher.
In 2016
waren wir vorbereitet.
Im
positiven Sinne.
schnetzeln.
Das, was

In times when wanderlust calls, people like to
remember very special moments on vacation trips.
When my wife and I visitedFlorence
in November 2016, this was still possible with AirBerlin without any problems.
Unfortunately, the airline no longer exists.
There is a pandemic that makes it even more difficult to travel to one of my favorite countries without any problems.
It was easier in 2016.
We were prepared in 2016.
In a positive sense.
We had read Dan Brown's Inferno again, watched all seasons of Da Vinci's Demons and The Medicis, and so, well prepared, we enjoyed the city.
In the historic city with its many historic buildings there is also a small museum that I would like to recommend to you, although it does not present originals but replicas.
However, they are replicas that you might also be familiar with, as they all come from the mind of the great artist Leonardo da Vinci.
There is his famous armored car, which is reminiscent of a turtle and has a conical roof. It is equipped with cannons all around.
The model is based on a sketch by Leonardo, which is exhibited in theBritish Museum
in London .
The armored car shown had 4 toothed wheels that are driven by crankshafts. These should be operated by 8 men.
The sickle car on display, pulled by two horses, has sickles mounted on the wheel hubs. These should be set in motion by the movements of the wheels by means of a rotor, and quasi cut through the battlefield.
But a paddle wheel boat and a flying machine are also exhibited here.
What looks like a normal knight's armor actually turns out to be a robot. This construction was developed for festive occasions at theMilan court. A system of cables and pulleys
should take over the function of muscles and tendons.
Anyone who lives not far from theRhine , like
me, knows the modern variants of this design. A dredger used to dig mud
deposits from a river.
Another technical piece is this sawmill with automatic material feed and a water drive via a paddle wheel.
The resourceful researcher also developed a diving suit. An airbag with valves that regulate the airflow through the hoses. The hoses end in a protective dome that floats on the water surface and ensures air exchange.
Leonardo also developed an effective explosive grenade for the mortar shown in the model. The gun can be easily adjusted using a semicircular ring gear.
This cart was a forerunner of the machine gun.
The Hodometer is a device for measuring a distance traveled, the Archimedean snail a water lift.
Parachute, slewing crane, oil press, printing press and a mirror grinding machine are also reproduced here according to the artist's designs as an illustrative model.
Replicas of the artist's drawings and paintings are also shown here.
In addition to some other smaller models.
You can see that Leonardo was really a universal genius.
The museum is relatively small, but I found it very interesting to see some of the artist's constructions in the model.
The tank was worth it for me.

moment.
